1. Children and their property are to be respected at all times. 2. Adults and their property are to be respected at all times. 3. Children must adhere to rules and instructions given by any member of Kidscape staff. 4. No child will behave in a way that intimidates or endangers the participation of other children. 5. No alcohol, drugs, cigarettes or pornographic material will be tolerated. 6. No vindictive or malicious behavior. 7. Boys will not be allowed in the girl’s ablution area. 8. Girls will not be allowed in the boy’s ablution area. 9. Boys and girls will not be allowed in each other’s dorms or rooms. 10. Always ask for permission. 11. No items such as walk-mans, cell phones, knives, jewelry, rollerblades etc. are allowed. NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS CODE OF CONDUCT WILL BE ALLOWED! Please note that we are not held responsible for any loss or damage to personal property or any other items whatsoever, belonging to the said person. Should any child not conform to this Code of Conduct, especially with regard to points 4 to 9, arrangements will be made for their return home at the parents/guardians expense. Our briefing meeting for parents and children is held immediately before the bus departure. We need the kids to be at the Delta Environmental Centre by 08h00 so we can run the briefing before the 09h00 planned departure. This really helps with the smooth running of Kidscape. This meeting is compulsory for parents and children. I feel that it is essential for you as parents to meet with me and kidscape staff and for us to meet the kids for the first time. I give a brief overview of the camp and explain how we deal with emergencies and any children who may require medical attention. I also explain that we do not tolerate bad behaviour or attitude and that if necessary, and in my opinion, those parents will be required to collect their child from camp. It is imperative we all go away to have a brilliant time. On return, we expect parents to be ready and waiting for the bus at 17h00. See you all soon.
